The text of the logo will have to be WORKING pARTS and the slogan “Black Country Arts and Disability Network”. My recommendation is to include in it a dropped “p”. Some info about WORKING pARTS:
WORKING pARTS is the collective name for a series of projects happening in the four Black Country boroughs - Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Funded by the European Social Fund, through the EQUAL programme, the work is focused on Arts and Disability, with the aim of improving cultural opportunities for disabled and deaf artists and audiences, whilst educating and assisting venues and promoters to be more accessible. One of the aims of the project is to introduce deaf and disabled people to the concept of Social Enterprise and discover ways of sustaining artistic and cultural opportunities through business development.
WORKING pARTS is managed by Walsall Council Creative Development Team and delivered by The Black Country Arts and Disability Network, an informal steering group made up of WCCDT, Black Country Touring, Multistory and the Arena Theatre.
I had several talks with my client before I started this project. I understood that, because of its mission, my design work will have to talk about WORKING pARTS with special attention. The need of expressing the fact that this organization is art related [art = non-conformism] and, at the same time, socially responsible [ie: conformism] were the guiding elements.
